Einstein Class: Year 4, 5 and 6

Einstein Class

Welcome to Einstein Class!  We are the Year 4, 5 and Year 6 pupils and our teacher is Mrs Watson.  We are lucky to have fantastic teaching assistants to work with us throughout the week: Mrs Chapman and Mrs Davis.

We are a responsible class of children who love showing the rest of the school how things are done!

Summer Term 2021

This term our topic is 'Invention and Innovation'.

In our 'Invention and Innovation' topic, we will be looking at 'The Tempest' by the great playwright William Shakespeare. We have just studied his infamous tragedy 'Romeo and Juliet' and our Year 6's are keen to share this with you as an end of year performance. We will also be looking at the story 'Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief' and this will tie in with a history unit on the Ancient Greeks. Another text that links to the Greeks is 'FArTHER by Grahame Baker-Smith and this will be our first new text for the summer term. We will later look at the rather witty book by Roger McGough and Chris Riddell entitled 'Until I Met Dudley'.  In our Science work we will be studying electricity and we will be looking at the religion of Judaism and later in the term explore the question 'Why do some people believe in God and some people do not?'. We will enjoy PE lessons based on summer Games and we have 'All Saints' visiting for some football sessions as well as 'Bikeability' for our Year 5 and 6 children.

PE kits will continue to be worn on 'Trainer days' - Tuesdays and Thursdays and outdoor learning clothes need to be in school all week for Learning Outside the Classroom as this will happen as much as possible. Please ensure that your child brings a bottle of water to school with them each day and as we enter the summer term sun cream needs to be applied before arrival at school and sunhats worn. Book bags will continue to be required on a Friday so that we can swap reading books over.
